WaPo had an interesting article of what the average American looks like<\/a>. I fit most of their attributes.<\/p>\n

Here’s how I compare:<\/p>\n

The average American is a woman<\/strong> – Yes, I’m a woman.<\/p>\n

The average American is white and not Hispanic<\/b> – Yep. I’m Caucasian.<\/p>\n

She’s 52 years old<\/strong> – Nope. I’m significantly younger than that.<\/p>\n

She has a bachelor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree<\/strong> – Guilty. BS from Frostburg!<\/p>\n

She works in “education and health services”<\/strong> – Somewhat. I work for a government contractor who does contracts with HHS.<\/p>\n

She earns $889.62 a week<\/strong> – Nope. I earn a lot more than that.<\/p>\n

She lives in a city<\/strong> – Yes. The suburbs.<\/p>\n

She’s a political independe<\/strong>nt \u00e2\u20ac\u201d who tends to vote Democratic<\/strong> – Yes. I’m a registered Independent but I tend to vote Democrat (when I like them).<\/p>\n

She voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016<\/strong> – Hell no! I voted for Jill Stein.<\/p>\n

The average American has a 26.1-minute commute<\/strong> – This is accurate.<\/p>\n

She’s married and lives with her spouse<\/strong> – Yep.<\/p>\n

She lives in a house that she owns or that another resident owns<\/strong> – Yes, I own my home.<\/p>\n

There’s probably another person there, too<\/strong> – Yes. My husband and my pets.<\/p>\n

She’s an evangelical Baptist<\/strong> – Nope.<\/p>\n

She disapproves of Trump’s performance as president<\/strong> – True!<\/p>\n

She believes that Trump has strengthened the economy<\/strong> – False!<\/p>\n

She believes that Trump has weakened America\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s standing globally<\/strong> – True!<\/p>\n

She would rather see Democrats control the House than Republicans<\/strong> – Yeah, I guess but it’s like one inch of difference.<\/p>\n

She probably won’t vote<\/strong> – Fuck no. I’ll always vote.<\/p>\n
