A wedding of two of my good friends! I had to go back for that! No way I was going to miss it. So I decided to plan an entire trip seeing friends and family in the states.<\/p>\n<p>We have been living in Portugal for about a year so it was about time.<\/p>\n<p>Below are all the things we did during the trip. Thanks to all of the people who made time to see me and thanks to the friends and family I saw along the way!<\/p>\n<p>Pictures:<br \/>\n<a title=\"Years Collage - Niles38 - States Visit September 2023\" href=\"http:\/\/yearscollage.com\/user\/niles38?set_id=146\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/yearscollage.com\/user\/niles38?set_id=146<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Thursday, September 7th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Woke up before alarm &amp; started moving<\/li>\n<li>Walked the kids and ran into Lorna<\/li>\n<li>Continued to get ready &amp; close up<\/li>\n<li>Walked to bis station and ran into Brandon<\/li>\n<li>Bus to Lisbon<\/li>\n<li>Checked bags in<\/li>\n<li>Food court<\/li>\n<li>Waited for gate<\/li>\n<li>Flight to IAD<\/li>\n<li>Long customs line but we got through easily<\/li>\n<li>Met up with Heidi after we got bags<\/li>\n<li>Parking $12<\/li>\n<li>Dropped off stuff at Heidi&#8217;s &amp; got Benji<\/li>\n<li>Went for drinks and fries and nachos at CraftHouse $37<\/li>\n<li>Back to Heidi&#8217;s for sleep<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Friday, September 8th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Bri kept waking me up<\/li>\n<li>Up at 5AM<\/li>\n<li>Heidi got up early &amp; went to her appointment<\/li>\n<li>Made bread &amp; coffee &amp; packed up sheets<\/li>\n<li>When Heidi got back, Walked Benji around &amp; ran into Heidi&#8217;s neighbors<\/li>\n<li>Tried to find &amp; went to T mobile and got a sim card $31<\/li>\n<li>Dropped Benji off<\/li>\n<li>Went to Chipotle<\/li>\n<li>Went to Makers Union Pub and got a beer<\/li>\n<li>Back to Heidi&#8217;s to pack<\/li>\n<li>Heidi dropped us off Curtis &amp; Wilma&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Hung out with Bri&#8217;s parents<\/li>\n<li>Went over Britney &amp; Jason&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Played wildlife game<\/li>\n<li>Got Chinese &amp; drank<\/li>\n<li>Drinking game<\/li>\n<li>Went back to Curtis &amp; Wilma&#8217;s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Saturday, September 9th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Got up early<\/li>\n<li>Duolingo<\/li>\n<li>Went to Target $320<\/li>\n<li>Went to grocery store<\/li>\n<li>Went to bank<\/li>\n<li>Back to Curtis &amp; Wilma&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Played a few hands of pinochle<\/li>\n<li>Drove to Rochy&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Hung out there &amp; had seafood &amp; drank a little<\/li>\n<li>Went to nearest hotel to Aaron &amp; Sabrina&#8217;s &amp; dropped Stacy &amp; Charles off<\/li>\n<li>Went to Aaron &amp; Sabrina&#8217;s &amp; drank<\/li>\n<li>Picked up Stacy &amp; Charles<\/li>\n<li>Matt arrived at Aaron &amp; Sabrina&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Ordered Mama Lucia&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Played game &amp; drank &amp; pokemon &amp; hangout<\/li>\n<li>Dropped Stacy &amp; Charles off at hotel<\/li>\n<li>Hung out a little bit more &amp; went to bed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sunday, September 10th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Got up early<\/li>\n<li>Matt on couch so couldn&#8217;t do Duolingo<\/li>\n<li>Bri got up so I did Duolingo<\/li>\n<li>Waited around<\/li>\n<li>Aaron &amp; Sabrina got up around 9<\/li>\n<li>Had coffee &amp; coffee cake &amp; talked<\/li>\n<li>Picked up Stacy &amp; Charles<\/li>\n<li>Went back to Curtis &amp; Wilma&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Family party! Wine &amp; saw family<\/li>\n<li>Charles left then eventually Stacy &amp; Matt<\/li>\n<li>Talked to Shawn after Eagles game<\/li>\n<li>Bri Bri Went out<\/li>\n<li>To sleep<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Monday, September 11th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Got up and got ready, took some sandwiches &amp; drinks<\/li>\n<li>Got to Uncle Georges around 12:30<\/li>\n<li>Got in pool &amp; had a few drinks<\/li>\n<li>James &amp; family came over &amp; hung out<\/li>\n<li>Steak dinner<\/li>\n<li>Watched a tiny bit of the game &amp; went to bed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tuesday, September 12th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Got up about 6 &amp; did Duolingo<\/li>\n<li>Bri slept on couch then after I got up slept in bed a bit<\/li>\n<li>Had shrimp salad for breakfast &amp; coffee<\/li>\n<li>Left for beach around 10:30 AM<\/li>\n<li>Parked in Surf City free area &amp; walked on beach for a bit<\/li>\n<li>Went to restaurant &amp; got a beer &amp; bang bang shrimp<\/li>\n<li>Drew on table paper &amp; ate<\/li>\n<li>Went to get crabs &amp; picked out live crabs<\/li>\n<li>Stopped at several places to find Coors Light in bottles<\/li>\n<li>Uncle George steamed crabs when we got back<\/li>\n<li>Went in pool for a while until crabs ready<\/li>\n<li>Brendly came over &amp; had crab legs<\/li>\n<li>Patrick came home<\/li>\n<li>Everyone ate crabs for a while<\/li>\n<li>Patrick &amp; Brenly got in pool &amp; we followed<\/li>\n<li>In pool for a bit &amp; Uncle George got in for a bit<\/li>\n<li>Kim drinking &amp; dancing<\/li>\n<li>Went to sleep<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Wednesday, September 13th 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Kicked Bri out of bed because he kept moving around<\/li>\n<li>Got up &amp; did Duolingo<\/li>\n<li>Uncle George got up<\/li>\n<li>Brenly left<\/li>\n<li>Had breakfast (sausage and waffles)<\/li>\n<li>Left Uncle George&#8217;s around 9:30 AM<\/li>\n<li>Ran into bad traffic<\/li>\n<li>Went to Target on way back<\/li>\n<li>Arrived around 4 PM<\/li>\n<li>Went to Streetcar 82<\/li>\n<li>Bryan S and Helen E showed up<\/li>\n<li>Drinks then went back to Bri&#8217;s parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Thursday, September 14th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Got up early &amp; did Duolingo &amp; took a bath<\/li>\n<li>Bri helped parents move safe<\/li>\n<li>Pinochle with Uncle Neil<\/li>\n<li>Went to dinner\/lunch at Olive Garden<\/li>\n<li>Went to Silver Branch<\/li>\n<li>Met up with Alicia, Bryan S<\/li>\n<li>Arlene came!<\/li>\n<li>Helen came &amp; we all drank<\/li>\n<li>Later Marc came &amp; we moved inside<\/li>\n<li>Arlene &amp; I went to car to retrieve wine and ran into Tony!<\/li>\n<li>Went back to Silver Branch but last call had happened but Hung out anyway &amp; split last beer<\/li>\n<li>Said bye to Arlene &amp; Tony<\/li>\n<li>Went over Marc&#8217;s place for a hang out<\/li>\n<li>Went back to Bri&#8217;s parents late<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Friday, September 15th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Got up early<\/li>\n<li>Bri&#8217;s mom made french toast when Bri got up<\/li>\n<li>Played pinochle a good part of the day<\/li>\n<li>Decided to ping Sabrina<\/li>\n<li>Went over Sabrina &amp; Aaron\u2019s around 3 and hung out for an hour and a half<\/li>\n<li>Went over to Helen\u2019s place<\/li>\n<li>Ate pizza &amp; drank a little<\/li>\n<li>Watched Barbarian<\/li>\n<li>Went back to Bri\u2019s parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Saturday, September 16th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Got up early<\/li>\n<li>When Bri\u2019s parents got up they took us to Bob Evans (I drove)<\/li>\n<li>After Bob Evans, back to Bri\u2019s parents for pinochle for a while<\/li>\n<li>Started to get ready for the wedding around 2:30<\/li>\n<li>Left for the wedding &amp; got there around 3:30ish<\/li>\n<li>Awkward at first, caught up with Paul\u2019s family &amp; some of their friends<\/li>\n<li>Wedding &amp; ceremony happened where we were called out :)<\/li>\n<li>When time to go inside, had the honor of sitting at the same table as Paul, Becky, Shawn, &amp; Jen :)<\/li>\n<li>Chipotle dinner &amp; open bar<\/li>\n<li>Paul\u2019s dad &amp; his brothers came over to me to ask about Paul &amp; Becky story<\/li>\n<li>Bri started talking to one of Paul\u2019s uncles<\/li>\n<li>Caught up with a lot of people like Seth, Paul\u2019s dad, others; hung out with Shawn &amp; Jen<\/li>\n<li>Jen walked in on first dance<\/li>\n<li>Danced &amp; talked &amp; drank<\/li>\n<li>Helped clean up<\/li>\n<li>Decided to go home since it was so late &amp; we couldn\u2019t go anywhere else<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sunday, September 17th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Got up early &amp; started to pack<\/li>\n<li>Got ready &amp; waited around for a while<\/li>\n<li>Finally got moving to the brewery around noon<\/li>\n<li>Lots of traffic!<\/li>\n<li>Stopped at Brew Belly for some beers but they didn\u2019t have Sweet Baby Jesus or the cider Brian likes<\/li>\n<li>Finally arrived at Brookeville Beer Farm; the area changed!<\/li>\n<li>Eric &amp; family &amp; Chris were already there<\/li>\n<li>Got a bigger table<\/li>\n<li>Helen, Frank, Aaron &amp; Sabrina, Tricia &amp; Travis &amp; family, Angela with Jasper showed up!<\/li>\n<li>All talking &amp; having a good time<\/li>\n<li>Mel &amp; Jim showed up<\/li>\n<li>Heidi showed up then Dave<\/li>\n<li>Talked with everyone and had a good time<\/li>\n<li>People started leaving then we left around 5:30<\/li>\n<li>Heidi dropped us off at IAD very early (just in case of traffic)<\/li>\n<li>Got checked in &amp; waited at gate for like two hours<\/li>\n<li>Got Five Guys<\/li>\n<li>Boarded plane<\/li>\n<li>Couldn\u2019t sleep too much; kept waiting for food &amp; uncomfortable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Monday, September 18th, 2023<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Didn\u2019t sleep too much on flight<\/li>\n<li>Watched the last episode of Shameless<\/li>\n<li>Finally arrived in Lisbon<\/li>\n<li>Several minor incidents then got to bus station<\/li>\n<li>A few minor incidents then finally got on bus to Lagos<\/li>\n<li>Arrived in Lagos &amp; started to unpack<\/li>\n<li>One of the beers had exploded in Bri\u2019s suitcase<\/li>\n<li>Lorna dropped the boys off but Lando isn\u2019t doing well with his nail<\/li>\n<li>Bri cooked dinner<\/li>\n<li>Tried to help Lando but he was in too much pain<\/li>\n<li>Sad night worrying about Lando<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A wedding was to happen!
