It was a very VERY busy week. It felt like a month&#8230; so jam packed and lots of traveling. But I had a great time and it was amazing seeing so many friends and family and meeting new family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pictures:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/yearscollage.com\/user\/niles38?set_id=299\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Years Collage - Niles38 - States Visit November 2024\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/yearscollage.com\/user\/niles38?set_id=299<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Friday, November 22, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Woke up really early &amp; got a shower &amp; walked Lando<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spent some time with Lando but got an Uber notification that Uber was near<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rushed outside &amp; waited for uber but uber took a while; Bri texted &amp; walked outside to wait with me<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uber to Faro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Faro to Lisbon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chilled at Lisbon for hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long flight to JFK<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phone didn&#8217;t work so got on wifi in airport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customs at JFK was easy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waited &amp; got bag<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stacy met me &amp; got a sim card with really nice lady<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Matt got us &amp; drove to Stacy&#8217;s place<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hung out with Stacy and Matt &amp; did rubiks cube &amp; got mexican food<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to bed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday, November 23, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Woke up several times but woke Up around 5 am<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Called Bri<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When Stacy got up, made avocado toast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got lyft to train station<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stacy hung around with me&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got on crowded train<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Met a really cool guy that helped with my bag &amp; talked for a while<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gave him chocolate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bag got stuck getting on metro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Metro to Takoma Park<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Met up with Helen &amp; her new bf<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chatted &amp; ate &amp; drank memosas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helen drove me to Forest Glenn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Becky &amp; Paul picked me up from Forest Glenn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to Shawn &amp; Jen&#8217;s&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put together cat house while Keegan arrived<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to brewery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Back to Shawn &amp; Jen&#8217;s<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drank &amp; hung out<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday, November 24, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Slept upstairs &amp; got up early<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Breakfast &amp; Rummy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went with Shawn&#8217;s to Coastal Flats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Happy hour! Sooo many people<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went home with Eric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hung out while Eric made dinner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Monday, November 25, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Got up around 6:30<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eric drove me to metro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bri&#8217;s parents picked me up then we went to Heritage Hyundai<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Signed car away<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to deposit state refund check at Navy Federal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lunch at sandwich place<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got gift card for Uncle Eddie<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went back to Bri&#8217;s parents house &amp; played pinochle with Uncle Neil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bri&#8217;s parents dropped me off at metro &amp; back to Shady Grove<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aaron &amp; Sabrina picked me up from metro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to Eric&#8217;s to get suitcase<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to Aaron &amp; Sabrina&#8217;s &amp; played with kittens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aaron picked up dinner; veggie Chinese<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hung out with kittens<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tuesday, November 26, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Got up early &amp; rearranged suitcase<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waited for Aaron &amp; Sabrina to wake up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got Starbucks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to the vet for kitty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Metro to DCA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Had a beer and sandwich (forgot the tax\u2026 it was expensive)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flight to CLT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flight to OAJ<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>when I landed, kim was waiting for me<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got bag<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to house &amp; had a few beers &amp; chilled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wednesday, November 27, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Woke up early<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uncle George made awesome breakfast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to Walmart &amp; shopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>went to Surf By The Sea for lunch\u2026 Had a good crabcake sandwich<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Back to Uncle George&#8217;s &amp; started fire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>James &amp; family came over<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patrick came over<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drinking &amp; fire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bed early<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thursday, November 28, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Got up somewhat early<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hung with UG by the fire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Watched Thanksgiving parade<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helped Kim a bit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>James &amp; family came over &amp; we hung out &amp; drank a little<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Amazing Thanksgiving dinner! Food was very good!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hung out and drank<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Friday, November 29, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Went with UG to get gas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hung out &amp; had leftovers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kim &amp; UG dropped me off at the airport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Very nice and easy in airport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bumpy flight<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When landed in Charlotte had a few beers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flight to NYC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stacy &amp; Matt picked me up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went out to dinner with all and Charles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Back to Stacy&#8217;s apartment for uno<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday, November 30, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Got up &amp; got ready<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grabbed breakfast to go at little place on the way to the bus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dirty bus ride<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bus was late<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Met up with Mom &amp; Mr. Jim<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to Vinni&#8217;s<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expensive lunch &amp; mom gave us a lot of gifts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went over o AJ&#8217;s &amp; hung out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AJ came late from work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chatted for a bit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to bus lot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bus was 45 minutes late<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Jim and mom waited around with us<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bus ride back to NYC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Took lyft back to Stacy&#8217;s apartment&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sunday, December 1, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Got up &amp; took it easy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Took subway to meet up with Charles at the train<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two trains to stadium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lots of food! Awesome, good food<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Checked out the Jets merchandise&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Watched the game &amp; ate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the game, got more food<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Took Trains to NYC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Met up with Charles\u2019 family at a restaurant&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Danced and chatted with Charles&#8217; family<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walked around Macy&#8217;s &amp; took pictures &amp; hung out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Charles\u2019 mom gave me a bunch of gifts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Great time meeting them<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Back to Stacy&#8217;s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Monday, December 2, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Woke up &amp; packed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went out with Stacy to place to have breakfast and get beer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to ABC&#8217;s and got a beer &amp; beers to take<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Back to Stacy&#8217;s &amp; hung out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Met up with Matt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put suitcase in Matt&#8217;s car<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walked to PF Changs but checked out comic book store first<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to taco place &amp; met up with Charles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dinner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walked back to Stacy&#8217;s<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>headed to JFK airport but lots of traffic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Said good bye &amp; got through security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Early to flight so had a few drinks at the bar close to the gate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chatted with some Americans &amp; tried to get them to not look at Portugal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got another beer while waiting in line to board &amp; chatted with people<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portuguese woman said my portugu\u00eas was very good<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boarded plane &amp; had dinner &amp; went to sleep for a few hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tuesday, December 3, 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Turbulence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Landed in Lisbon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got through everything &amp; waited<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Had McDonald&#8217;s<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tried to rest &amp; continued to wait<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boarded plane to Faro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After plane,&nbsp; got suitcase<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Got an Uber to home<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bri got me sushi for dinner&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Went to bed really early<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had to go back to the states to sell my car so what better time to visit than Thanksgiving (so I thought)!
